Bulk deal vs block deal
Bulk deal
One client buys or sells more than 0.5% of a company's listed shares in a single session, across one or more trades in the normal market. The broker reports it to the exchange the same day.
Block deal
A single trade of at least ₹10 crore, done in a separate window of the exchange (a morning and an afternoon block window), between two parties at a price close to the market price.
Reading the list
A deal shows who traded and at what price on that day. It does not show why, or whether the client still holds the shares. Many large deals are one investor selling to another, so a buy and a sell often appear for the same stock.
